They can be many colors ranging from orange, yellow, red, black, gray, and green. Their colors may change according to their mood, surroundings, or other factors. They sometimes have saddle markings and/or spots on their body.

Native to the Caribbean, southern United Sates, and southern Brazil.

Size: 6-8 inches in length, sometimes reaching 12 inches as they get older.

Tank Requirements: 20-25 gallons for a pair, 30-40 gallons for two pairs.

Water Temperature: 72-77 degrees Fahrenheit.
